Newer Update – Trash Collection – Monday 12/20/21

Posted on December 20, 2021 by Lakeside HOA in News

Republic Services has a new update on their website regarding the trash collection in Garden Grove. However, the Board will be following up as well.

You may visit their site here:  https://www.republicservices.com/municipality/garden-grove-ca

Service Alert 12/20/21

Residential waste and recycling services are running behind schedule due to the high volume of accumulated waste being collected.

  • Residents should leave carts out at the curb for collection until your service is completed.

  • Bulky item collection services that were previously scheduled are being collected. New bulky item requests will be scheduled for the week of December 27th, and resume as normal.

  • Excess trash can be bagged and left next to the carts.

  • Commercial & Industrial waste and recycling service is being provided, but delayed due to the high volume of accumulated waste. Please leave your container(s) accessible.

Update – Trash Collection – Mon 12/20/21

Posted on December 20, 2021 by Lakeside HOA in News, Uncategorized

As of this morning, Monday 12/20/21, Republic Services has not picked up our trash yet. The board spoke with both The City of Garden Grove and Republic Services last week, and was assured our complex would be picked up as soon as possible (estimating by this past weekend).

However, that did not happen. The Board just spoke with Republic Services where they promised to escalate our request. That’s what we were told last week. We find this unacceptable. We also just left a voicemail for the City Manager of Garden Grove regarding this matter.

The holidays are fast approaching, and our complex needs to be serviced immediately.

The Board wanted to update all residents, and will continue to follow up on this issue every day until it is resolved.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact our community manager, Mark Gardner, with Optimum Professional Property Management at (714) 508-9070 or email him at:  MGardner@optimumpm.com

Thank you for patience. The Board

New Update – Trash Collection – 12/16/21

Posted on December 16, 2021 by Lakeside HOA in News, Uncategorized

The Board would like to offer this update on the trash collection here at Lakeside.

As of yesterday, Wednesday 12/15/21, Republic Services has expanded its collection services throughout Garden Grove, with a focus on essential locations, such as healthcare, schools and food service.

As of today, Thursday 12/16/21, the negotiations between Republic Services and the workers are still continuing. Optimum has been calling the city of Garden Grove daily to ask them to get involved. However, the city has been non-responsive. The Board has tried calling the city as well, but have not been able to speak with a live body.

Today, the Board did speak with Republic Services regarding trash pick-up. We stressed that our trash is overflowing and has become a health hazard. Our complex is on their list for pick-ups, and we reminded them we have (9) trash enclosures in total that all need servicing.

We will be calling both the city of Garden Grove and Republic Services daily until this issue is resolved. In the meantime, please double-bag your trash if you can. We will offer a new update as soon as possible.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact our community manager, Mark Gardner, with Optimum Professional Property Management at (714) 508-9070 or email him at:  MGardner@optimumpm.com

Thank you for patience.

Update – Trash Collection

Posted on December 13, 2021 by Lakeside HOA in News

Some residents may have noticed that our trash collection receptacles are full. As of last Thursday, Dec. 9th, more than 400 sanitation workers in North Orange County went on strike. Areas affected include Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, and Anaheim.

The good news is that Republic Services (our vendor) and the union plan to resume talks Tuesday morning, Dec. 14th. Disneyland has been affected, too, and could have some major influence in resolving this issue quickly to satisfy both sides.

In the meantime, consider double bagging and make sure to close the trash bags very securely. Another one of our vendors, Strategic Sanitation Services, will continue to clean and neaten the enclosures as much as they can. They are not contracted to remove or empty the bins, but will monitor the bins for pick-up and update us with any new information.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact our community manager, Mark Gardner, with Optimum Professional Property Management at (714) 508-9070 or email him at:  MGardner@optimumpm.com

Thank you for patience.

Update – Back Gate

Posted on November 23, 2021 by Lakeside HOA in News

Some residents may have noticed that our Back Gate is not working at the moment.

On Saturday, Nov. 20th about 2:30pm, the closing mechanism failed.  Our vendor secured the gate with caution tape for the time being.

Due to the holidays, all of their techs are already booked for the week.  So repairs have been scheduled for early next week.

We will keep you updated as we go.

Thank you for your patience, The Board

Update – Back Gate

Posted on October 31, 2021 by Lakeside HOA in News

As many residents have noticed, the post at the back gate was damaged.  We submitted a work order request immediately after it happened, and are still waiting on the vendor.

However, many of our vendors are experiencing shortages in parts, material and labor.  We are continuing to check on this issue until it is resolved.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact our community manager, Mark Gardner, with Optimum Professional Property Management at (714) 508-9070 or email him at:  MGardner@optimumpm.com

Thank you for patience.
