** ATTENTION ALL RESIDENTS **
HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM PST MONDAY, JAN. 23rd…
…FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH MONDAY EVENING…
The rains have been pretty fierce this weekend. For those residents who live in ground-level units, we would like to caution you in advance to prepare for potential flooding.
We urge you to begin collecting and filling sandbags right away. You can place them on your patio AND entry way near the front door in case the water levels from the streams and ponds overflow.
The city of Garden Grove’s Fire Department will offer up to (10) FREE sandbags and the sand to fill them to any Garden Grove resident on a first-come, first-serve basis 24-hours a day at these locations:
Fire Station #2 – 11805 Gilbert Street
Fire Station #3 – 12132 Trask Avenue
Fire Station #4 – 12191 Valley View Street
Proof of residency may be required. Residents are asked to bring their own shovels, and they are responsible for transporting and disposing of sand and sandbags. However, the city will deliver sand & sandbags to physically disabled residents.
For more information, please call the Public Works Department at (714) 741-5375, or the Garden Grove Fire Department at (714) 741-5600.
If you have Homeowners insurance, please check with your agent to be sure your policy covers damage from water intrusion.
The Board would like to thank all residents in advance for your preparation.
